Anthony Perley began his career with State Farm Insurance Company in Houston, Texas, after earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He was with state Farm Insurance from 1961 to 1974 as a BI adjuster and litigation specialist. From 1974 to 1987 he worked as an estimator and supervisor in construction and worked several storms on the Gulf coast as a catastrophe adjuster. During that time, he was also a private investigator. He has earned his Claims Law Associate from the American Educational Institute. He has attended various arson seminars and is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators. He is a certified adjuster with the National Flood Insurance Program.

In 1987, the opportunity arose to come to Alaska and work for Northern Adjusters in Anchorage, AK as a multi line adjuster. He eventually settled into handling property claims only. He has handled commercial losses in the two-million dollar range down to everyday homeowner’s claims. He has handled claims throughout the state of Alaska, including the bush communities.
